CIOP Professional Meeting - Thursday, June 3, 2010
9:00 - 11:30 am. Title: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Executive Assessment Individual psychological assessments in business are different from clinical, counseling and educational work, as well as from high volume screening of entry-level job applicants. This interactive session will outline, with examples, the key stages and decision points of successful executive assessment. We'll explore the details of investigating jobs, developing and using an assessment protocol, and feedback and report-writing with an eye to what business clients expect. Participants will work in small groups on assessment planning, interpreting a set of sample results and deciding how to feed back their findings to the decision makers. Come ready for dialogue... and maybe a few horror stories. Ralph Mortensen, Ph.D., ABPP has more than 20 years of executive assessment and coaching experience with RHR International, Aon Consulting, YSC, Ltd., and his own firm. He is board-certified in organizational and business consulting psychology and is IPAT's chief psychologist for human resources and organizational development. Ralph's training was in I-O psychology at Wayne State University. Time: 9:00-9:30 registration and continental breakfast, 9:30-11:30 interactive session Location: 125 South Wacker Drive, Second Floor Conference Center Chicago, IL 60606 Cost: $30.00 at the door
